"Funny to see those young kids. I took on my given name in the U.S. (We left after Hugo and sold Satori later. Scott Nichols bought her.)

I work as a librarian at a community college and free-lance writer here in NC. My website is www.ecocove-rental.com and the tab that says 'eco musings' has some of my work, as does www.unitync.net/artindex.html (scroll down to Gabrielle Thompson's articles) and www.northcarolinatouristguide.com/Articles/article 83.asp and the same with the article 84.asp ending. The first one has more recent photos!

Our daughter, Lyric, is in D.C. and works for 'Women for Women' that helps women in war-torn areas.

Lyric's godparents are Robert & Joanie DeLugo. Steve and June Marsh, Howes, Stokens and others are still good friends. Cameron & Dan Ellison live nearby (I Love To Travel and Ellison Welding) in Hendersonville.

So, all ah wee in NC are doing fine, meh son! Thanks for keeping us alive! Gay Thompson

We still have friends that chartered with us and such wonderful memories. It was such a special time and great people.

(Remembering):

The Pixleys who owned the Sail Loft after chartering a year or so. They are retired and spend their days chasing trout, fly fishing!

Lynn Woods (ran Charter Services for Charlie and Marty Peet) is still my dear buddy (we knew each other in California in 1973 and met up again when she came down on vacation.) She married Dr. Ben Graves and they built & lived in the stone round house out past Coral Bay. They are retired and living in a camper, going where the mood takes them.

Charlie Peet and Marty go back and forth between FL and WY, I think, and he has a pet bear that is in movies and stuff. She does writing workshops and has a website.

I can't recall Joan's husband's name on Dragon.

Judi Gillman (Dan was her husband that died) from Capricorn Lady has written a memoir and has a website too--I think under Capricorn Lady.

We were there (in St. Thomas) at the perfect time and I am so thankful we built Satori when we were young and got to have that wonderful lifestyle. Most our friends thought we'd never sell her (and Ed still dreams about her many nights). It was like marrying off your first born and we were grateful that Scott kept her up as well as he did.

Having had Lyric, and my being ashore unless it was families or past guest who wanted us along, made it much harder on Ed, even though we had great cooks in Joanie DeLugo and Holly Cornett.

Ed & Satori made it back from Virgin Gorda a week after Hugo hit St T, where Lyric & I were... we left in 91 because a storm in 90 had the same path as Hugo... and have been here in N.C. since 91.

Hi,
Gabrielle (Gay) just wanting to let you know that I have written a novel based on 14 years of chartering that has been published as an e-book:
http://www.amazon.com/Sailing-Paradise-ebook/dp/B00DBF9F20/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1370962759&sr=1-1&keywords=sailing+paradise

There is also a Facebook page, Sailing Paradise as well as one for Eco Cove House! And, Lyric married Lee Lilley in St. Thomas last year at the Yacht Club. We had a great time with all our friends and VI family!
