St Thomas - St John, U.S. Virgin Islands ~ Remembering All-Ah-Wee

Recalling the many people in the 70's and 80's, up to the mid - 90's who gave Red Hook and The East End the character it had (including some from downtown and St. John).

Why "mid-90's" ? Hurricane Marilyn in 1995 changed our work and play patterns, our lives and energies. As one person expressed it, Hurricane Hugo in '89 was an adventure; Marilyn was a royal P-I-T-A.

Some long time island residents left after '95, plus rebuilding and development, forever changed the simplicity and laid back character of Red Hook we reveled and thrived in.

Many though are still sailin', lymin', workin', drinkin' and dancing on as we speak . . . in St Thomas-St John-BVI's, down island or wherever they may be.
